The Government spends around $4 billion a year on land transport; building new infrastructure, maintaining our roads, improving safety and reducing the environmental impacts of travel.
The Government Policy Statement on Land Transport balances these priorities, influencing how the money raised through petrol tax and RUC is spent.
As we start planning for investment over the next ten years, the Ministry of Transport wants to know what matters most to you.
How do you rank safety, cost, travel time, reliability, environment and maintenance when you travel?
Please take 5 minutes of your time to complete the survey in the link below and have your say.
Please bear in mind that some of the questions in this survey are confronting, however they are designed to get people thinking about some of the difficult and very real decisions that need to be made about how we invest in transport.
